Špina bar - where we care about details
Silent about secrets of times, people and their lives within these walls and the street outside. Its elegant, exciting and unique style makes us no better place in Makarska to come with friends, loved ones or just by yourself to have a glass of wine, classic or craft cocktail or some local tapas food.
Kala is a local idiom for a small street
This is the oldest and most famous street in old town. In the past it was the main destination and heart of the city where many significant events took place. Since 1994, Makarska festivities, known as the Nights of Kalelarga, have been traditionally held there every year - events that attract more and more visitors. Life goes on and on in this old stone-paved street.
Origin of word Špina
Public "špinas" and fountains back in ancient times were places where young couples arranged their "rendez-vous", where people gathered to grab fresh water for their households and discussed news and gossips. And now in our Špina Bar tradition continues, this time pouring great wines and cocktails.
Have a seat inside the bar, in more than 200 year old stone house or sit outside, on the street, and feel the sounds and vibes of "kala" and feel like home.
